A Geo-HEP seasonal storage field is not designed according to a fixed standard scheme. The decisive factors are the interplay of available heat and cooling supply, required storage capacity, temperature levels, operating mode, and the spatial conditions of the site.
Based on these fundamentals, a storage field is developed whose size, layout, and integration are tailored to the specific application for each project.
From Energy Profile to Storage Array
For the initial design, three areas are considered together:

Energy Requirements and Operating Mode
What heating and cooling capacities are available, when are they needed, and what thermal capacities must be provided during loading and unloading?
The required temperature levels and the desired operating mode are also factored into the design.

Memory Requirements and Field Size
The thermal profile determines the required storage capacity. The modular design makes it possible to tailor the number and arrangement of the storage units to the specific needs of each project.

Location and Integration
Available space, clearances, cable routing, accessibility, and structural and geotechnical conditions all play a role in determining how the storage field can be arranged and integrated at each specific site.

A storage array can be constructed from multiple interconnected storage units. This allows the system to be adapted to a variety of storage needs and spatial conditions.
The specific sizing is determined by considering the energy profile, temperature levels, operating mode, and site conditions together.
