Innovation Born of Experience
My name is Albert Vögerl. For more than two decades, I have been working on the development of innovative technologies for the efficient use, transfer, and storage of thermal energy.
The origins of Geo-Hep Systems date back to 2004. As part of a research project for the world’s first zero-energy house with vacuum insulation, I initially developed the Geo-Hep System for use in single-family and multi-family homes.
The Fraunhofer Institute provided scientific support for the research project over a period of approximately four and a half years. Extensive measurement data was collected and analyzed under real-world operating conditions. The insights gained from this data formed an essential basis for the technical optimization and further development of the system. The resulting Geo-Hep technology was patented.
Starting in 2012, the technology underwent systematic further development for industrial applications. A particular focus was placed on developing high-performance heat transfer systems designed for significantly higher thermal loads and outputs. The resulting technological solutions and the heat transfer system are also protected by patents.
This continuous development work ultimately led to the creation of the HEP—a high-performance system for the efficient transfer and utilization of thermal energy.
Today, the technological expertise built up over more than two decades forms the foundation for the next decisive step in development: seasonal energy storage.
The goal is clear: not only to efficiently capture and transfer thermal energy, but also to store it over long periods with virtually no loss and make it available exactly when it is needed.
Thus, the development arc spans from the first applications in the zero-energy house in 2004, through scientific support and the industrialization of the technology, to today’s solutions for the seasonal storage of renewable energy.
